Alresford, or Royston Vasey (a slice of quintessential English countryside)
For some, they may conjure up images of Royston Vasey, the nightmarishly weird town in the League of Gentlemen but for me they mean quaintness and the beauty of the countryside.
On a recent trip to Alresford, I couldn’t help but be enamoured with the adorable houses and boutiques. I thought I’d share a rather short blog post on the town and my highlights!
One of the best shops was definitely the Long Barn, a lavender farm which makes all beautifully scented Lavender products on site. You can stroll around the fields and inhale the smell, or amble through the beautiful artisan homewares, clothing, jewellery and more- they also cook up a mean brunch that unfortunately I didn’t have time to eat but I will next time!
Alresford linen was also a highlight of mine- a gorgeous coffee shop, yoga studio and homewares and clothing boutique. Chilli the cat is also a must-see (and stroke) in the village.
Some other highlights of the village also include the bookshop specialising in antique books that also has many new selections, the Michelin starred restaurant and the houses themselves, beautifully coloured (as you can probably see my obsession with pink houses only grows)!
It’s so quaint and perfect for a relaxed day out, ambling around the countryside.
